In Banyoles, next to the lake, the so-called Parque de la Draga is one of the most important Palaeolithic and Neolithic sites in Catalonia. Successive excavations carried out in the area have led to discoveries relating to the agricultural activity of the period, such as some wooden tools that date back to 5000 BC. The material found in the Parque de la Draga can be seen at Banyoles Regional Archaeological Museum.
