Declared a National Asset of Cultural Interest, this impressive Romanesque monument is made up of a Benedictine monastery that dates back to the 10th century, as does the adjacent church, a 12th century bell tower and a defence tower from the same period. Sant Pere de Rodes monastery has been recently reformed and conditioned to house the Study Centre of the same name. The architectural site has also been chosen as one of the headquarters of the Cap de Creus Natural Park.
