We will be visiting picturesque castles of great historical interest, many now in ruins. The road then leads on to visit fortresses and ramparts that have withstood the ravages of time, and is thus ideal complement to the Medieval Towns and Villages Route
Montgrí Castle and the Dunes
The route starts off at
Torroella de Montgrí
and begins to climb shortly thereafter. The GR 92 path leads to
the Dunes
, and from there you take a local footpath back to Torroella.
The Baix Empordà county, from north to south
Come and explore the little medieval villages and the towns of the Empordà, set in a network of idyllic landscapes to lose oneself in all year round.
