The Natural Volcanic Park of the Garrotxa region is, without a doubt, one of the most important protected natural open areas in the Girona regions. In 1997, the number of visitors exceeded half a million.

The most protected areas in this natural space are in the volcanic area, and are the Croscat volcano and the beech forest known as La Fageda d'en Jordà.

The activities that are most popular are the routes on foot and the trips with horse and carriage and in the train-bus that travels through these spots.
