Its strategic situation, in the far eastern part of the Pyrenees, has enabled it to become one of the most important ski resorts in the Pirineu de Girona:
Vallter 2000.
The main town is
Camprodon, a municipality with an eminently mediaeval layout, which is notable for its parish church dedicated to
Santa Maria and the picturesque bridge with a central arch and two side arches, which date back to the 12th century. You should visit its dark narrow streets and its stone buildings to be able to get to know the mediaeval origin of most of the buildings in the Pirineu de Girona.

Beautiful countryside in Camprodon valley.
On the way to Camprodon, it is worthwhile stopping off at
Sant Pau de Segúries, where you will find the
Capsacosta Roman way, a branch of the Via Augusta, which united Cadiz with Rome. In the same valley, you will find the villages of
Llanars and
Vilallonga de Ter, on the way from Camprodon to Setcases. The countryside around them invites visitors to explore the area. In Llanars, you should visit the church of
Sant Esteve, which dates back to the 12th century; a beautiful Romanesque building with a monumental entrance. Another of the most interesting corners of the Valley of Camprodon is the municipality of
Molló, in which, in addition to the spectacular countryside around it, its typically Pyrenean stone buildings are noteworthy, as well as the parish church of
Santa Cecilia de Molló, which dates back to the 12th century.
