Coves in the Baix Empordà County
The small bays are the sweetest aspect of the Costa Brava, where the mountain and the sea caress small maritime towns surrounded by golden sands.
Visits to small bays such as those of
Begur - Sa Riera, Aiguafreda and Sa Tuna – or of
Palafrugell – Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella – are a must to be able to understand the essence of the Girona coast. The abrupt cliffs, the transparent waters and the exuberant vegetation that surrounds the coastal strip of the Baix Empordà make this the area with the greatest landscape beauty on the Costa Brava.

Beach in Palafrugell.
Another must, to be able to enjoy the full richness of this landscape, is
Sant Sebastià lighthouse, in Llafranc, a privileged view point 167 metres above sea level, where there is a Baroque sanctuary and the inn of the same name. The panoramic view of the
bays of Llafranc and
Calella is one of great beauty, as well as the view of the sector of El Salt d'en Romaboira and the coastal areas further to the north, in the area of the
small bay of Cau and
Els Frares mountain.
