Unlike other pottery centres, in La Bisbal they do not only produce articles made of baked clay and bricks, but there is also a significant sector dedicated to decorative and building ceramics.

Visitors will find pottery from the moment they reach the first houses on the main road into the town, which is the capital of the Baix Empordà. Huge flower pots, floor tiles in thousands of colours and figures of all shapes and sizes are displayed on either side of the main road, like a letter of introduction about what can be found in the town's shops. Most of the establishments have their own pottery workshop.

The visit to the "pottery capital" can be complemented by a tour around the museum that the town has dedicated to this activity, installed in an old pottery factory.
