In this resort you can find several open caves in a talus of travertine stone, the most interesting of which are in good conditions to be visited.

This park is the best deposit of Western Europe in order to understand the change of Neanderthal men into Modern men. Its interest was proved by the first excavations began in 1943 by Dr. Josep Maria Corominas. Nowadays the excavations are done by the University of Girona and the Catalunya - Girona Archaeological Museum. In 1996 the Consell Comarcal del Pla de l'Estany began the reconstruction of the present park.

Finally, it is highly advisable to visit the County Archaeological Museum of Banyoles, where you can see a lot of Prehistoric objects that come from the Serinyà caves.
