Platja del Moll Grec

Bathing beside the Hellenistic quay of the port of the ancient Greek and Roman cities of Empúries is a luxury that this beach can offer. Majestic, with more than two thousand years of history among the stones, this quay reminds the bathers that this was once the entrance gate of the Greek and Roman civilisations to the Iberian Peninsula. At the other end there is the beautiful village of Sant Martí d'Empúries, with its medieval walls, which has been inhabited without interruption for more than 2,600 years. It is worth going to see, as is visiting the Museu d'arqueologia de Catalunya-Empúries (Catalan Museum of Archaeology – Empúries), nearby. Next to the coastal dunes and the promenade of Empúries, this beach is about 390 metres, is sandy and has achieved the European EMAS and ISO 14001 environmental certification. To get there, take the road towards Sant Martí d'Empúries. Also a highly recommended way of getting there is by walking along the promenade.
Highlights: You will not find any other beach with an over two thousand year old Hellenistic quay. Part of the old port of Empúries
