Charcoal-making festival of Forallac

Over the years the festival of La Carbonera has become an event shared by the people of Forallac and the rest of the region. What was at first an anthropological and educational activity (albeit an entertaining one) has become one of the most noteworthy cultural and festive events in the area.

The fire is lit on the 12th October, and is kept alight for two weeks. During this time there is always a charcoal worker present, day and night to ensure that the firing process is correct.
