This small settlement dating back to the 3rd century BC was probably the precursor of a major Iberian settlement located further inland, namely the Montbarbat settlement.

Given its strategic location, practically on the other side of the castle of En Plaja, at the summit of a promontory, this fortified complex was ideal for keeping watch of the coastal and inland area. The layout of the settlements dwellings and workshops can still be seen today.
