Banyoles Regional Archaeology Museum
The museum, housed in the Gothic Pia Almoina building, contains collections from the archaeological sites located in the county of Pla de l'Estany. A tour of the museum gives visitors the chance to trace the history of the county from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages.
The palaeontology and prehistory rooms display fossils of large animals of the tertiary and quaternary periods, the jaw of Banyoles, the industry and fauna collections of the Caves of Serinyà, and finds from the Neolithic settlement of La Draga. The history rooms display finds from the Iberian, Roman and mediaeval periods.
