Can Bech’s gourmet tradition dates back to 1981, when the Bech family opened its restaurant in the village of Fontanilles (Girona). One of its most famous dishes was cheesecloth cottage cheese with Empordà figs, a typical local dessert made with figs in syrup. The figs were so popular that the Bech family decided to make them as conserves in glass jars and sell them to their customers and nearby shops.

Nowadays, figs in syrup are still a Can Bech speciality, along with the jams, jellies, sauces, chutneys and other more recent and more innovative product lines, like the Just for Cheese signature pairings for cheeses.

Just For Cheese is a line of five sauces created specially to pair with the five main groups of cheeses in order to highlight their organoleptic properties. The pairings are made with fruits, dried fruits and spices, ingredients selected particularly for their origins and which Can Bech sources all over the world.
